The First Pet Store 100% Dedicated to Animals at L.A.'s City Shelters 

In just the first  few months since its grand opening on January 21, 2012 (and including a pop up adoption drive over the holidays), Friends of L.A. Animal Shelters has celebrated 160+ adoptions - and counting -  at its new pet store, L.A. Love & Leashes, the first pet store dedicated to benefitting the animals at L.A.'s six city animal shelters.

L.A. Love & Leashes is a great place to find a new family member, a sweet treat for a furry friend, or an opportunity to give and get a little love from the amazing dogs and cats from our city shelters that we are privileged to have with us daily at the store.  Donations and merchandise proceeds support the store and help keep this high traffic adoption venue open to benefit animals waiting for homes in Los Angeles Animal Services shelters.

L.A. Love & Leashes offers a humane alternative to traditional pet stores that buy and sell companion animals for profit.  Adoptable dogs and cats are transported daily to L.A. Love & Leashes from our city shelters.  The store also offers a range of animal-related retail items, with the dual aim of creating a true alternative, humane pet store model and offsetting the costs of the store.

L.A. Love & Leashes is a pet store with a twist (all dogs and cats are from our city shelters) formed by Friends of L.A. Animal Shelters, a volunteer-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to helping L.A.'s city animal shelters.
