L.A. Love & Leashes has entered a new exciting chapter

Since mid 2025, or organization has been focused on saving dogs with medical complications from our city shelters, in partnership with some incredible rescues. Please read more below!

For 13 years, L.A. Love & Leashes operated as a storefront that provided an enriching daycare, medical services, and expanded adoption opportunities for dogs and cats of Los Angeles Animal Services (LAAS). In 2025 we fully transitioned to focus solely on medical cases in our city shelters.

L.A. Love & is a volunteer-led organization that directs 100% of funds raised to support medical cases of dogs and cats at LAAS to enhance adoption and rescue opportunities.

One of the largest needs at LAAS is support in getting animals with medical complications out of the shelter, as the city does not have the resources to give them the full extent of what they need. That's where we come in. We work with Los Angeles Animal Services and trusted local rescues to identify animals that would thrive with medical treatment; we then provide funds to make sure they succeed in their rescue homes and will never see the shelter again.

Many animals face euthanasia or may not be adopted solely because of solvable medical issues. L.A. Love & Leashes gives these animals a second chance at life.
